We are a team of college students from Harvard and Columbia. We were born, raised, and are currently based in the Detroit area. As people with personal connections to Michigan healthcare workers, we felt helpless as we watched our loved ones enter the front lines of the COVID-19 fight every day while their hospitals were quickly running out of equipment to shield them from harm. Our hearts are with all the healthcare workers who risk their lives every day to make sure that our city survives this virus. That’s where the incentive to create EyeAid Detroit came from, and that’s what keeps our work going.
