Our Mission
The Motor City has been put in park.

The COVID-19 coronavirus is testing our world. The virus has hit Detroit particularly hard – we have some of the steepest infection curves and highest fatality rates in the country.
COVID-19 has magnified Detroit’s existing structural inequalities and has led to dangerous conditions for Detroit patients and healthcare workers alike. Detroit is the poorest large city in the country, and its lack of resources combined with COVID-19 has led to arguably the worst urban healthcare crisis in the nation. At the epicenter of this crisis is a shortage of protective equipment for our healthcare workers. Eye equipment in particular has been difficult to acquire -- this results in a greater risk of viral exposure for those most directly in contact with it.
Thousands of college students are looking for ways to help out with the pandemic, but opportunities to help are limited. Yet, we already have something that is instrumental in protecting healthcare workers: our lab goggles, which are probably currently lying in boxes shipped home during our rushed college move-out. When we pool our resources together and donate all of our goggles, we are preventing the spread of disease to many vulnerable people.
As college students who want to help with the pandemic, we are in possession of something that can save a life — EyeAid is here to help you actually do it. Healthcare workers need you. Donate your goggles now to keep our healthcare heroes protected:
